Description
Methyl Purple Indicator Solution (PN: T-10-121) is used as a pH indicator. It is specifically used in the context of alkalinity titrations. It contains Methyl purple, a quinone-imide redox dye. It also acts as an antimicrobial agent and aids in the detection of lactic acid bacteria and the determination of iron in human hair, in addition to many other applications (i.e. aquaculture, potable water, municipal water, water conditioning, primary treatment, diagnostic assay manufacturing, hematology, histology, among other applications).
It comes in liquid form, in a 500 mL bottle, and is dark purple in color. It changes color from purple (pH 4.8) to green (pH 5.4)
The solution is best stored at room temperature, away from sunlight and drastic temperature changes.
